Use xfrm to store a range of pdf (and jpeg ) documents.
Be useful if the icon could be auto generated from the first page of the pdf OR take the first jpeg uploaded.
FWIW used gallery2 for a previous iteration of this pdf store and this functionality was available.
Note this was requested quite a few years ago but thought worth asking again
