Cactus Knife not working... sometimes

I recently built a superfarm and realised how hard it is to cut cacti. Sometimes I can cut some of the cacti, but it fails to cut through some of the cacti.
Things I have tried:
1. Disable patcher 1.12 hitboxes
2. Make sure it's not the problem of my mouse nor my keyboard

PS: it usually works in the other direction that is the opposite of where I should be going.
