Can anyone genuinely tell me why people would dislike Skyblock updating past 1.8?

Here's how I view it personally:

+ datapacks, which allow for greater control over minecraft as a whole with regard to existing features and adding new ones
+ monumental performance increases, even more so with sodium, starlight, indium, memory leak fix, etc
+ modders can switch from forge to fabric/neoforge/quilt, much easier and optimized to use which is even better for performance
+ is not filled with deprecated features / code and horrible to work with compared to later versions
