Dark style as new or child?

Hey,

I want to create a dark style for my forum.

Since XF1 I am using the method of having my custom style as a child of the orignal XF one.

Parent Style (original XF)
---my_custom_style

My users are not allowed to use the XF style, only me which I use to debug things.

Now I have the need to create a dark style. What is the best way to do so?

I think exporting my current style to keep all the modifications is the best solution here, right? Then import it. While doing it, should I have...
