Deleting a node or thread

Hello to all,

I did some tests to check if by deleting a node via admincp or by deleting a thread, if the posts were deleted too. I noticed that those related to the deleted discussions, remain in the table xf_post.

I would like to understand why we keep data that are no longer used.
