The biggest argument for Infinity is saving inventory slots. People will still say that Mending is better because "you'd never need more than one stack of arrows, even in big fights like Ender Dragon". But that's not true, you see.
Let's say you take one stack of arrows. If you kill a skeleton, you'll already have two stacks of arrows (64+1), thus putting you at a disadvantage compared to Infinity.
It's even worse for the people who take shulker boxes full of arrows. Now you're holding three inventory slots hostage just because you didn't want infinity.
People complain that Infinity bows are bad because you can't repair them forever.
Well, a bow with Unbreaking 3 has, effectively, 1536 uses. Mendingstans argue that they wouldn't ever use 64 arrows even in the biggest fights. Therefore, a single bow with 1536 uses should last them a few weeks (months?).
You can repair a god bow twice before it is "too expensive". Therefore an Infinity bow can fire 4.608 arrows before it breaks - or 72 stacks of arrows. Let's be honest, the bow would outlive most of our worlds.
Once it breaks you just have to craft a new one. In a world that is several thousand of days old you should be able to get Power V, Mending, Infinity and Unbreaking 3 from villagers.
People are really wasting 2, maybe even 3 inventory slots just because they don't want to craft a new bow every few months/years or so.
Infinity is objectively superior to Mending.
