For the love of God Mojang, please remove the online requirement to play Minecraft again

It used to be so simple. You start your launcher, you pick the version you want to launch, you launch the game and you play. Done.

Why do I have to be online to play my singleplayer worlds? Why am I locked out of playing Minecraft entirely again because Windows did some update that messed with my firewall or whatever? Why did you have to add the online-requirement? Just let me play my offline worlds.
