I travelled to the world edge in survival and here is why you shouldn't.

TL;DR:​ I flew from my base (essentially 0,0) to the world border (30,000,000, 0) on the Nether roof. It took 4–5 days total. I recorded every flight segment, tested ascent/descent angles, etc. Yes, I regret it. For future players: do not try this. A Log of My Insanity I started in the overworld for the first 50k blocks or so, quickly realizing it would take forever. Therefore I transitioned to the Nether for another 70k blocks or so. Lastly I finally realized I could do it on the nether roof. Segment Logs​ Each entry includes: Coordinates Reached Time Taken Ascent / Descent Angles / Y Level Reached Avg Speed Legs 1 Legs 2 Average Speed vs. Descent Angle Average Speed vs. Ascent Angle Average Speed vs. Ascent Angle (Some letters were excluded because I AFK walked them instead) What I Learned Best Ascent Angle: 30° Best Descent Angle (Speed): 37.5° Best Altitude: 30–35k if using Unbreaking III Inventory: Start with at LEAST 8 unbreaking elytras, 6 shulker boxes of XP bottles, and 10 shulker boxes of fireworks. I spent 4–5 real-world days doing this and I regret almost all of it. But I did learn a lot about elytra mechanics, optimization, and Minecraft physics. For anyone attempting something similar: plan out your XP sources and consider scripting automation early.
