So in another small RPG server that I used to play, you could advertise items in the chat by typing [item] (the actual word "item"). When you did this it might say in chat, "[Heroic Hyperion]" if the item in your hand was a "Heroic Hyperion".
Then, the people in the rest of the lobby could open chat and hover over the part of the message that says [Heroic Hyperion] and the tooltips (the stuff shown when you hover over an item such as name, dmg, enchants etc.) of the item would be shown.
