 | Last night my 10 year old and I decided to make a giant vertical Snakes & Ladders in Minecraft Bedrock on Xbox. Took us about 4 hours and then played it 3 player for an hour! I'll try to explain every element below... The dice roll mechanic is using the scoreboard random command for all players, with a command block to detect when the player drops their dice item, hooked up to a single pulse redstone circuit that triggers the scoreboard. As for the board itself, there are 100 spaces plus the start and finish. Ladders are, well, ladders! Snakes are twisting vines which lead down to a green concrete path that you follow to the correct space. The target block spaces make you move forward 4 spaces. The spaces that have the dice icon on them mean you get to roll again. My son decided to add some extra flavour and added a "snake of doom" and "mega ladder". These are the fiery space and the big golden path/tower. If anyone is interested in a video showing gameplay, I'm sure I could arrange something. On a side note, one of my own previous projects has been a full recreation of Decked Out (from Hermitcraft) with some added lore and seasonal content.
