The Necron's ladder currently only works by claiming a handle while having a ladder in your inventory. However i feel like its very easy to forget it (mainly for the newer player) and lose out on a charge. To prevent this i think it would be nice to bring in a back up system where you can apply this charge to a ladder at a later moment. If you claim a handle without a ladder in your inventory, the game will see this and respond to it in any of the ideas below.
