Need help for a potentially hacked friend

"Ok, so a random guy said he'd pay me 30 bucks to help me spread his new mod for skyblock. He sweared that it wasn't a scam and that it only worked with 1.8.9. I launched it and I didn't see any mods, and he said he'll pay if I find more glitches. I'm not sure if the mods are actually there or if it's a scam cuz I found nothing."
