Questions on combat progression

I am currently combat 21 about to be 22 and it has been a chore so far. I am trying to get to the crimson isle for collections --

So far I have Slayer 5 in Zombie and Spider, and am really struggling with the wolf, I can barely beat the level 3 wolf. I am doing around
10k damage with aotd, or around 85k damage with the aurora staff.

I feel like I might be missing something, or I should be doing way more damage than I am now at this point. I am really starting to stack my accessories but...
