rift money help

i am currently progressing through the rift but I can't seem to do some of the random stuff in west village. for example, rift racing. mirrorverse (tiny dancer, big brain, etc.) ik that EVERYONE says "do rift! it makes 40 mil/hour! omg its sooooo good!!!" but I have 17 minutes of rift time, and i haven't unlocked any of the good mmms. So, is there any tips that i can use? for rift race, i am using an aotl with transmission tuners.

And once i get the money, should i spend it on a felthorn...
