Sometimes URLs do not automatically become links

Twice in the last few days, I have pasted a URL into the rich text editor and submitted the post. The URL stayed as raw text instead of becoming a hyperlink and/or showing a rich preview (I have rich previews enabled). I have never seen this happen before this.
