Listen, I've been getting increasingly irked by the same types of comments. I don't know how common they are, but they are common enough to me that I feel the need to say something.
You're the one making the elytra OP. You're the one trivializing the totem.
The average player is not going to build massive farms for gunpowder and paper in order to have infinite rockets, they're going to make a couple with the amount of gunpowder they can obtain by killing creepers by hand, and with paper from a couple of sugarcanes growing next to their river. I don't understand how some would think it needs to be debuffed more?
It's an end-game item that you don't need for progression, that you need to go out of your way to find because it's not a guranteed spawn at end cities. Getting to the cities in the first place requires that you either beat the final boss, or have enough blocks to bridge your way to the outer islands. Navigating the outer islands is a whole other thing, because one misstep and you'll lose everything.
Then after finally obtaining it, it has durability that can only be mended with an expensive enchantment, or drops from an enemy that has special spawning conditions. It can only glide on it's own, and it's ONLY if you plan to have propelled flight, that it needs rockets. How is this OP?
Same thing goes for the totem. I feel like the only people I see complaining about it are the ones farming it. Just. Stop farming it then? Again, its a reward item that you get from killing a tough enemy, that is not common to run into and is not required in any way. Literally just a "hey you did it, here's a reward" type item. You have to go out of your way to either spawn a raid, or find a mansion. It's also single-use, meaning that you have to go through the trouble to obtaining it again if you want more.
Yeah, it's OP when it's being farmed, but that's literally the entire point of creating a farm, no? Why would you build a farm and then get mad that the farm works? Not to mention that building farms in the first place takes a lot of time and effort in gathering the resources and then constructing it.
Idk I felt like ranting about this because I seriously do not get the point of these "x item is OP" critisisms. You're the maker of your own fun, that's the point of this game.
