Unable to see/view child forum node or admin/moderator move posts to it.

I have a forum node with its permission of 'Private node' selected/ticked.
Admin/moderators and a usergroup have permissions to see this node, and post threads/messages to it. All is working as expected.

This node has a child node, its permission of 'Private node' also selected/ticked, and all usergroup permissions inherited. It's node options are also 'Display in the node list' unticked, and 'Allow new messages to be posted in this forum' unticked. It's intended to be a archive/read-only...
