My idea of a way to add gemstones and different mining items on stranded, different mining minions have a small chance (About 0.25%) to spawn gemstones, and there would be a gemstone/mining upgrade for minions to have a much higher spawn rate (50-75%) for these items, but will be slower at generating their own resource:
