Birch wood is not that bad

Apart from the fact that in Spanish the have an elvish style name(Abedul) which is already badass enough, it's pretty soft and clean for builds with very dark tones like deepslate bricks, I can see why by itself it's not that good but what is the hate over it? I never saw it as that ugly...
