Collapse forum categories in the admin panel node page?

I am working on making a forum that will have a large number of forums. Each forum will represent a date of travel. So after a few years, there will be 100s of forums in a lot of different categories. Is there a way to collapses the categories in the admin panel nodes page so I don't see 1000s of forums that I have to scroll through to make a change? I was using Phpbb and their software puts each category and sub forum on its own page that gives much easier navigation in the admin panel...
