Hiding single posts within a thread?

Is there a possibility (built in or via addon) to bring OT postings out of sight within a thread w/o moving them to another thread or deleting them? The idea would be, that an admin or mod could hide / mask them / fade them out, but users could still see that there is a posting and klick on it to see it - very much like currently soft-deleting of posts works for mods and admins.
