there is tool That a lot of java applications (including Minecraft Jav) use called Log4j witch logs things in these apps. Some hackers have exploited this small tool. minecraft is one of the first things that it has impacted. As of this posting it is mostly under control but you still need to do a few things:
for vanilla players: restart your launcher, the developers have made a patch and in the article on Minecraft.net they say to restart your launcher for the patch to be installed.
