the knife always spawns in the second slot in your hotbar. to my knowledge, there's no way to change this.
usually this is not an issue but my "2" key on my computer right above WASD is unresponsive. this means i either have to scroll to the knife when i am murd or use the other "2" key which is all the way at the other end of the keyboard. neither is very helpful, as i've played MM for years and am used to quickly hitting the "2" key above WASD to kill people.
