Question about Trophy Fishing

Just a couple things I wanted to ask about trophy fishing:

Should I wait until fishing 45 for magma lord armour before I start trophy fishing seriously? I don't know much about it but it seems reasonable to have the highest fishing speed possible before going in. (At the moment I already have bronze hunter armour, don't need to worry about that)
